RFID Security Alliance Monthly Open Forum on New Security Developments and Trends 1/12/2011

Contributed by Joanne C. Kelleher

The RFID Security Alliance holds a monthly open forum about topics related to securing radio frequency identification systems. Attendees can dial in or, if in the San Francisco area, attend in person. The January topic is New Security Developments and Trends for 2011.

The speakers are Justin Patton, Managing Director RFID Research Center, University of Arkansas and Dr. Senthil Kumar, Technical Director at the RFID Research Center, University of Arkansas.

Their topics include:
* RFID is becoming main stream with adaptation of item level tagging. Will RFID security become a concern in 2011?
* What are the threats? What are the challenges the adaptors might have to face?
* What are latest security trends and developments that are making the system more secure?

RFIDSA Chair, Michael McCartney, will lead a question and discussion period.

The 1/12/2011 forum starts at 10 am PT/1 pm ET and will last about 1 hour. To participate, RSVP to Anna at (415) 331-9292 or Anna.Haight@RFIDSecurityAlliance.org. She will send you the dial in details. If you wish to join in person, the physical location is QLM Consulting, Sausalito CA.

We hope you can join us. The next Monthly Open Forum is February 9, 2011.
