embedded world Conference 2019

Start date: February 26, 2019
End date: February 28, 2019
Time: 12:00 am - 12:00 am

SecureRF’s team will be attending the embedded world Conference 2019 and is available to meet clients, prospects, partners and the press.

In addition, SecureRF’s CTO, Derek Atkins, will be presenting a technical paper at embedded world on February 28th at noon.

Title: A Future-proof Performance Enhancement for Secure MCUboot

Abstract: Real-time operating systems offer embedded developers engineering efficiencies and shorter time to market. An important technology that is emerging in support of real-time operating systems is MCUboot—a secure bootloader for 32-bit MCUs. Unfortunately, the underlying cryptography for MCUboot is RSA and ECC which will both be broken by the imminent arrival of quantum computing. The specter of quantum computing is why, for example, the U.S. Department of Commerce has solicited post-quantum replacements for RSA and ECC. Walnut Digital Signature Algorithm is one of the replacements being reviewed. In addition to being quantum-resistant, WalnutDSA offers faster run-times and a lower ROM/RAM footprint than RSA and ECC, which significantly speeds up the boot process.

SecureRF has incorporated a complete image signing and verification capability into MCUboot using WalnutDSA. The result is a faster, quantum-resistant secure boot solution. This presentation will explain why the Walnut digital signature algorithm is faster and quantum-resistant and show the performance gains achieved. Attendees will learn how they can integrate the enhanced version of MCUboot into their own products for secure boot and secure firmware updates.
